JSON Schema Validator

Check whether JSON data matches a JSON Schema. Every problem is listed with its path and a plain-English message, such as “$.age: Expected number but got string”, and mistakes in the schema itself are caught too.

JSON Schema Validator

Check JSON against a JSON Schema (draft-07, 2019-09 or 2020-12). Validation runs in your browser, and remote $ref URLs are never downloaded.

How to use the JSON Schema Validator

  1. Paste your JSON data on the left and your schema on the right, or load an example.
  2. Click Validate JSON.
  3. Fix the listed problems, or copy them to share with your team.

Features

  • JSON Schema draft-07, 2019-09 and 2020-12
  • Each error shown with its path, like $.items[1].qty
  • Format checks such as email, date, date-time and uri
  • Detects mistakes in the schema itself, such as a misspelled type
  • Remote $ref URLs are never downloaded
  • Copy all errors as plain text

Frequently asked questions

Which JSON Schema versions are supported?
Draft-07, 2019-09 and 2020-12. The version is read from the schema's $schema keyword, and 2020-12 is used when it is missing.
Why doesn't my remote $ref load?
For privacy, the validator never downloads anything. Put referenced schemas under $defs in the same schema and refer to them with #/$defs/name.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Validation runs entirely in your browser.
